Blue Whales are the largest mammal on earth. Some can grow as long as 110ft-130ft. The blue whale is found in all oceans but they like warmer waters. So why are we writing about it on this blog?
The blue whale is endangered, it has been nearly hunted to extinction by us...people There are less than 12,000 blue whales left in the world. The Blue whales eat smaller fish and plants, but feed mainly on krill. Krill is found in the Antarctic Ocean and has been decreasing year after year due mainly to global warming.

Just one breath from a fully grown adult blue whale, will produce enough air to fill nearly 2,000 balloons! The blue whales heart is so big that it is around the same size as a small car.
Female blue whales give birth every 2 to 3 years and this usually takes place at the beginning of winter. The blue whale calf stays with the mother blue whale for about 6 months before the blue whale calf is ready to venture out by itself.
If we take better care of our Earth, global warming will decrease, and the numbers of Krill will increase. The Blue Whale will have more food and a better chance at survival. We also need to enact laws that decrease the amount of blue whales that are hunted.
